Old Quarry Park info board unveiled
A new asset has been added to Old Quarry Park in Henleaze.
A historic interpretation board explaining how the abandoned quarry in the Eastfield area of Henleaze Road was transformed into an attractive open space for the community, was unveiled on 28 September by local historian, Veronica Bowerman.
James Heming, the grandson of John Clark who is featured on the board, paid a visit to the site. He is the fourth generation of the Clark family involved in the family business A P Clark & Son, now located at Avonmouth, who will be celebrating 130 years in business in 2020. The company moved from ‘Clark’s Corner’ at the junction of Henleaze and Eastfield Roads in 2012 prior to the redevelopment of the site for retirement homes.
The board is sponsored by local businesses C J Hole, Home Instead, Wessex Water and Henleaze Dental Practice.
Veronica gave thanks to the Trustees of The Henleaze Society for organising such a joyous occasion.
