Appeal after incidents in Badock's Wood

THE POLICE are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man following a spate of incidents in the Badock’s Wood area during July and August.

The incidents have all involved a man described by victims as being Asian or of tanned appearance, aged in his late teens or early 20s and approximately 5ft 8ins tall.

A woman in her 50s first witnessed a man walking around with his hands down his trousers between 3.30pm and 4pm on 29 July. This was followed by a woman in her 50s being inappropriately touched at about 12.45pm on 3 August and a teenage girl was touched on her shoulders without her consent at 12.55pm on the same day. A man was seen again with his hands down his trousers at approximately 1pm on 11 August. The most recent incident involved a teenage girl witnessing a man with no clothes on jump out in front of her at around 12.30pm on 15 August.

Avon and Somerset Police are treating the incidents as linked, and Detective Constable Michael Coleman said: “These are concerning incidents which have caused the victims significant distress.

“We’ve carried out a number of enquiries but now need the public’s help to identify the man involved. 

“Anyone with information about the incidents, or who recognises the description of the man, is asked to contact us via the non-emergency number 101 providing the call handler with the reference 5218173617.
